Instead, choose “People in or regularly in” those locations. Click “Location Options.” Do not accept the default setting, of targeting people in, or who show interest in, your locations.

One more pro tip: After you are happy with your location targeting, go to the campaign Settings > Locations. Adding each state individually will return finer reports, as well as allow you to adjust bids in specific states. Why would you want to target all 50 states in the USA by state, and not simply add the entire country? In Google Ads, if you target the entire country, you’ll get click reporting on… the entire country. Reminder that “Georgia” will default to Georgia the country, not Georgia the state.Īlso: there are countries you cannot target in Google Ads due to sanctions imposed by the United States Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC): Crimea, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria. Simply edit the lists as needed and copy/paste them into Google Ads. Below are lists of all countries, countries in each continent, or states in the USA. It’s gotten a little easier to target or exclude countries or states in bulk. That is when I found an article I wrote a few years ago on this subject! So I googled “list of Adwords countries”. I would have to add all countries one by one and skip over the ones in my list. “Google Ads”) doesn’t have a fast way to enter this list. My client dictated to me the countries he didn’t want to market to on the phone. If you have any suggestions to share on sitelinks in the Shared Library, we’d love to hear them in the comments below. The other day, I had to enter many countries into an Adwords campaign.

I think the ability to quickly update and add sitelinks is one of the most useful features of the Shared Library in AdWords Editor. This button can help save you from recreating sitelinks that already exist but just need some freshening up. This is especially helpful when you’ve shifted your campaign goals and say are now targeting “boots” instead of a more general term like “shoes” but are using the same landing page. The Replace/Append/Change Capitalizations button is also available should you need to quickly change a few words. You can also utilize the search function to quickly filter out unnecessary ad groups and campaigns. (This is where I could have saved some major time). The “Associations” button will allow you to add sitelinks to as many or as few campaigns or ad groups as you want with a minimal amount of work. It is important to remember that if you edit a shared sitelink, you’ll edit it across all of the campaigns or ad groups associated. Being able to add the same sitelink to multiple campaigns can be handy if you have multiple campaigns or ad groups that have a similar focus. Here you have the option to add, update, remove or replace sitelinks. If you’re looking to add multiple sitelinks, use the “Make Multiple Changes” button to utilize AdWords Editor for what it does best – bulk additions and edits. You also have the option to add the extended sitelink format but it’s not required if you don’t want to add the description lines. The button “Add Shared Sitelink” will get you on your way to adding a sitelink that you want to apply across multiple campaigns or ad groups with one swoop.

Here are the ways you can utilize the Shared Sitelinks feature in the Shared Library of AdWords Editor to its full potential: Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a newbie just learning the ropes, it’s never a bad idea to brush up on the tools designed to make our lives easier. So I realized I could potentially save someone else from the same fate. Remember that “doh!” moment I mentioned earlier? Yeah…. Afterwards, a coworker kindly reminded me that I could have simply used AdWords Editor’s Shared Library. I had that moment last week after spending a large chunk of my day adjusting ad group-level sitelinks in a medium-sized account. We all have those “doh!” moments (some more than others), where we knew there was a faster method to make changes to an account, but we don’t think to utilize it in the moment.
